Registration Opens March 1 for “Blast from the Past” Summer Camp!
Get ready to travel through time! Registration opens March 1, 2026 for the West Baton Rouge Museum’s 31st annual “Blast from the Past” summer history camp series. Open to children ages 6–12, this beloved camp invites young historians on an unforgettable adventure through America’s story.
This year’s theme, “Happy Birthday USA!”, celebrates America 250 with a red, white, and blue journey from 1776 to 2026. Campers will explore milestone moments like the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the very first Fourth of July, and the legendary Betsy Ross flag story. Along the way, they’ll bake apple pies, play baseball, sign their John Hancock with quill and ink, make tri-corner hats, and march through history with music, art, storytelling, games, cooking demos, and more.
Campers should bring a bag lunch; snacks and drinks are provided daily. Space is limited and registration is first come, first paid.
Two one-week sessions will be offered:
- June 22–26, 2026
- June 29–July 3, 2026
Camp Hours:
- Drop-off: 8:00–8:30 a.m.
