Summer Day Camp

Our summer camp provides an excellent program for young children that is filled with guest performances, fun activities, and a splash day.

Registration Details:

Ages 5-10
Registration begins on May 4^th, 2026 and ends the Monday before each camp week begins
6 weeks total at 3 locations: 2 weeks in Port Allen, 2 weeks in Addis, and 2 weeks in Erwinville
Register for the weeks and locations desired
A total of 125 campers at each location then campers are put on a waiting list.
Cost is $10 per session/per child (non-refundable); A session is one week.
Camp t-shirts are by pre-order only and an additional $10 (shirt orders are due by May 23^rd). Camp shirts are the same at all 3 locations.

Begins the first week in June and ends in July

8:30 AM to 3:30 PM (Lunch included)

Summer Camp Policies & Procedures

Mission Statement

The mission of West Baton Rouge Summer Camp is to provide an ideal indoor and outdoor environment where children may develop valuable skills and friendships through programs that are educational, challenging, and enjoyable.

Our camp promotes personal growth, increased self-esteem, teamwork, and confidence, while encouraging campers to recognize and celebrate their unique abilities.

Eligibility Requirements

Summer Camp is open to children who:

Are at least 5 years of age, and
Are no older than 10 years of age prior to their first day of camp on June 2^nd, 2026

Campers must also be able to:

Function successfully in a group environment
Participate in all scheduled camp activities

General Camp Rules and Safety Policies

All camp rules are established to ensure the safety and well-being of all campers and staff. Campers and parents/guardians are expected to follow all guidelines at all times.

Daily Sign-In and Release Procedures

Parents/guardians must sign campers in and out each day.
Campers may only be released to parents/guardians or individuals listed in written authorization provided by the parent/guardian.
Any alternative arrangements must be submitted in advance to the Camp Director in written form for verification.

Camper Responsibilities

Campers are expected to:

Wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear (tennis shoes or closed-back sandals) daily
Remain with their assigned camp leader until picked up by an authorized adult
Refrain from bringing valuables such as phones, money, or other personal items

Behavioral Expectations

Campers must demonstrate appropriate conduct at all times. Expectations include:

Honesty and respectful communication
No use of inappropriate language or profanity
Kindness toward others; negative comments and put-downs are prohibited
Respect for personal space; hitting, pushing, or shoving will not be tolerated
Respect for the property of others and all camp equipment
Campers must not touch or consume another camper’s food
Compliance with all directions provided by camp staff

Camp Hours and Late Pickup Policy

Camp operates daily from:

8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Campers may not be dropped off before 8:00 a.m.
Camp concludes promptly at 3:30 p.m.

Late Pickup Fees

Late pickup fees will be assessed as follows:

3:31 – 3:45 p.m. → $15
3:46 – 4:00 p.m. → $30
4:01 – 4:15 p.m. → $45
4:16 – 4:30 p.m. → $60

This policy is strictly enforced. Campers will not be permitted to return until all late fees are paid.

Failure to Pick Up by 4:30 p.m.

If a camper has not been picked up by 4:30 p.m.:

The Camp Director will attempt to contact the parent/guardian and emergency contacts.
If no responsible party can be reached, local law enforcement or child protective services will be contacted.

Camper Misbehavior Policy

West Baton Rouge Summer Camp is designed to minimize opportunities for misbehavior through appropriate pacing, transitions, and diverse activities.

Parents/guardians are responsible for working collaboratively with camp staff to address unwanted behaviors.

Depending on the severity of the behavior, disciplinary actions may include:

Friendly verbal reminders
Redirection
Timeout
Removal from an activity
Being sent home for the remainder of the day
Dismissal from remaining camp sessions

Bullying Policy

Bullying is defined as an intentional and repeated act intended to harm another person physically, emotionally, or socially, including through exclusion. Bullying may occur:

In person
Through digital communication
In virtual settings used during camp activities

Bullying will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The Camp Director reserves the right to dismiss any camper whose conduct is deemed unsatisfactory or detrimental to the best interests of the camp.

If dismissal is required, the parent/guardian must pick up the camper immediately upon notification.

Zero Tolerance Policy for Physical Aggression

West Baton Rouge Summer Camp enforces a strict zero tolerance policy regarding physical aggression. Campers are required to keep their hands and feet to themselves at all times. Any deliberate act intended to cause bodily harm, including but not limited to pushing, hitting, fighting, or other forms of physical violence, is strictly prohibited.

Physical aggression is considered a severe offense and will result in immediate removal from the program without refund. Parents/guardians will be responsible for picking up the camper promptly upon notification of dismissal.
