West Baton Rouge Parks and Recreation is excited to introduce our Spring Soccer Program! This program focuses on continual development, teamwork, and fun for players of all skill levels. Whether your child is a beginner or has previous soccer experience, Spring Soccer offers a great opportunity to learn and enjoy the game in a relaxed and supportive environment.

2026 Spring Soccer Overview

The Spring Soccer Program includes a short clinic followed by balanced games for each session. Teams will be formed on the field before each game, ensuring a fun and inclusive experience. There are no mid-week practices, making it easy for families to participate!

  • Cost: $30, includes a WBR soccer jersey
  • Eligibility: Players must be 7 or older by September 30, 2025, and no older than 13 by the same date.
  • Location: Port Allen Soccer Complex
  • Dates:
    • Sunday, February 22, 2026
    • Sunday, March 1, 2026
    • Sunday, March 8, 2026
    • Sunday, March 22, 2026
    • Sunday, March 29, 2025
  • Game Times: Games will start at 2 PM or later. Final schedules will depend on the number of participants.

What to Bring

  • Shin guards worn under socks (mandatory for participation).
  • A soccer ball:
    • Ages 7 & under: Size 3b.     
    • Ages 8-11: Size 4
    • Ages 12&up: Size 5
  • Water bottle
  • Soccer cleats or sneakers (baseball cleats are not allowed).

Program Details

Coaches

Coaches for Spring Soccer will include volunteers from our Academy program, recreational league, and experienced older players. If you are interested in coaching or assisting, please email wbrsoccer@gmail.com.

Uniforms

Each participant will receive one WBR Soccer jersey. Players must wear their jersey for all games. Scrimmage vests (pinnies) will be provided to distinguish teams during games. Shorts and socks are not included.

Safety Guidelines

  • Players must wear shin guards under their socks.
  • Jewelry, including earrings and necklaces, is not allowed for safety reasons.

Registration Details:

  • Deadline: Registration closes on January 31, 2026.
  • Cost: $30 per participant. Additional $20 fee for late registration.
